Made to measure dresses

I'm always so flattered when someone gets in touch looking for help to design and make an outfit  for their special occasion. Luckily most come with an exact idea of what they want, but the exciting, if time consuming ones are the designs that start as a patchwork of ideas. I'm not the best artist in the world, but I do enjoy those drawings that start out as a pencil skirt and finish as a catsuit. Fulera Seidu, President of ACNAG: (ATAG Craft Network Association of Ghana ) was selected out of 1000s of craft workers in Ghana to represent her country at the 2014 Olympics in Brazil at the cultural market.  It was a massive honour for me to be asked to design and make 2 casual tops that would scream Ghana ! and would allow her to show off her Ebony wood, bone and glass bead jewelry. Shambala Festival Fashion 2015

Shambala 2015 was our first Shambala and it did not fail to impress. I'll be honest, after nearly 30 years of going to festivals, its hard to get excited. Don't get me wrong. in the daytime I love getting dressed and talking to new and interesting people. But come the night, there's very little music that will get me tramping round a muddy site. People actually take dressing up seriously and come prepared, there was a family of smurfs and aliens with headdresses made from plastic cups.  Very respectable men who work as super market managers and lawyers dress up as women on fruity Friday and the most buxom feminine dames dress up as mustachioed men. It was a real blast from the past. The happy, peace loving, smiley crowd  remaindered me of days of old. The mix of ages was also lovely. It was a real

I personally love the vibrancy and love at a festival. It's the closest situation we get to being our authentic self without fear. I think that's why there is so much dressing up that goes on. I've always been heavily influenced by festival fashion. Below are some of the most exciting people we have had the pleasure to meet. even my sister Nana got in on the act, wearing one  of our classic maxi dresses matching it with one of her belts You can  ORDER ONLINE   Or in person.
